Good keyboard, a bit bulky overall, needs a desk : Kensington Apple iPad 2 KeyFolio Pro Performance Case with wireless Bluetooth keyboard for Apple iPad 2 3G Tablet, WIFI Model, 16GB, 32GB, 64GB with different adjustable angles
I have used this Kensington Wireless Keyboard and case for about a month and overall, think it is pretty good with only a few issues.
Good points:
1. The key thing is that this Kensington keyboard genuinely feels like a regular computer keyboard. This is a relief as I had a previous folding Bluetooth keyboard that cost more than twice as much but I could never type numbers genuinely on it, and gave up on it. This keyboard feels well-known and solid, and with a slight getting used to, I can genuinely and speedily type meeting notes, reply to email, and tap in calendar entries, my main uses. The Ipad 2 is Not a laptop and so my usage of it is as a note taker, checking email and keeping my calendar.
2. The battery life of the keyboard is very good. I plug it in every Friday for 3-4 hours and it is just fine all week.
3. The cover genuinely protects the iPad. If I dropped it, I feel it would completely protect the Ipad from harm (unless I drop it in water!).
Bad points:
1. I agree with others that it is too bad the keyboard disconnects with the iPad after sleeping or being turned off and you need to reconnect it each time in Settings/Bluetooth. The instructions seem to propose it will associate each time once recognized the first time but this is not true.
2. The angle of viewing when you are in vertical mode is not quite right. It would be nice if it was more adjustable. One is not all the time at a flat desk seeing at your iPad.
3. I agree the whole cover is too thick and heavy when it could be streamlined. The charm of an Ipad is how small and light it is. I carry mine approximately everywhere. So I use this keyboard/cover when I am working with my iPad, and I take it off and use my light Apple smart cover on weekends when I am not working and don't need the keyboard entry.
4. Agree it would be nice if the cover turned the iPad on and off the way those Apple smart covers do.
